Harris, M.D. Chair in Environmental Studies Ellen Stroud is quoted in the December 9 Time magazine cover story “America’s Pest Problem: It’s Time to Cull the Herd” (available online to subscribers only).
An environmental historian, Stroud is the author of Nature Next Door: Cities and Trees in the American Northeast. The 2012 book looks at the creation in the Northeast U.S. of “a new wildness of metropolitan nature: a reforested landscape intricately entangled with the region’s cities and towns.”
