Since 1906, first- and second-year students have gathered in the Thomas Hall Cloister every fall for Lantern Night.

This hallowed tradition signifies the passing of the light of knowledge from one class to another.

For photos from this year's Lantern Night, see the below slideshow or view the online gallery.

For student reflections on Lantern Night, read these posts by Bryn Mawr Banter Bloggers, Amanda Beardall '14 and Ivy Gray-Klein '14.

Bryn Mawr Interim President Kim Cassidy also shared her thoughts about Lantern Night online on her "Dispatches from Taylor Hall" blog:

Hearing all of those beautiful voices singing Sophias together in the darkness, illuminated by Bryn Mawr lanterns, gave a very physical instantiation to the very special connection that Bryn Mawr students have to each other and to the College.

A gallery of the images was also posted to the Bryn Mawr Facebook page.
