Commencement Celebration Continues at Garden Party

Each year, as the seniors are preparing to receive their diplomas, a whole other kind of preparation is going on across campus. Garden Party, a tradition first mentioned in a College publication in 1916, is a tea party held to celebrate the new graduates. It provides an opportunity to introduce their families to their professors and friends, as well as say one last goodbye to the Bryn Mawr community. This year, around 4,000 guests were expected to attend.

Garden Party is a collaboration between Conferences and Events, Dining Services, and Facilities. The seniors also elect Garden Party girls who are responsible for scoping out the perfect location on the Green and decorating that space.
